At 08:00 AM on December 24, 2021, Tan Cang – Cai Mep International Terminal welcomed the 2,000,000th TEU through the terminal when handling MONACO BRIDGE vessel deployed on EC4 service operated by THE Alliance – creating a remarkable milestone during the journey of TCIT’s 11 years in operation, the 2nd year continuously exceeding 2,000,000 TEUs throughput volume and being a positive signal for the recovery of the Vietnamese economy in the year of 2021– after a period of slowing down due to the heavy impact of the Covid 19 pandemic.

On December 3rd, 2021, Tan Cang - Cai Mep International Terminal Co., Ltd (TCIT) of Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP) set a new record in handling productivity reaching 238.08 containers/hour when handling a total of 3,311 containers (equivalent to 4,797 TEUs) for the ONE COLUMBA mother vessel deployed on THE Alliance’s FPE service.

After the success of record-breaking handling volume per mother vessel recently, TCIT continues to welcome the new service route AA7 operated by Wan Hai Lines when successfully receiving M/V CAPE MAYOR on July 1st, 2021. This is the maiden call of the AA7 service route deployed by Wan Hai Lines connecting Vietnam to the East Coast of U.S. AA7 is the second service line of Wan Hai Lines beside the AA3 service line to connect goods from TCIT to North America since the beginning of 2021. Selecting TCIT as a partner for AA7 service route to the expand market in Vietnam of Wan Hai Lines is based on the trust in service quality, long-term and good cooperation between Wan Hai Lines and TCIT as customer and shareholder.

Within less than 7 days, new handling records per mother vessel at TCIT have been continuously set, starting with 14,235 TEUs on MEISHAN BRIDGE on 10 Jun 2021, then experiencing the record-breaking trend while exceeding the previous one with 15,615 TEUs on MONACO BRIDGE at 09:00 on 19 Jun 2021.

At 19:03 on 10/06/2021, TCIT set a new highest handling record per mother vessel with the total handling volume of 14,235 TEUs on MEISHAN BRIDGE, in which 7,014 TEUs of discharging and 7,221 TEUs of loading.

On May 9, 2021, Tan Cang - Cai Mep International Terminal (TCIT) welcomed the HANSA RENDSBURG vessel from the NANSHA port (China). This is the maiden call of CI8 (China India No. 8) – the new service operated by Wan Hai Lines, directly connecting Vietnam to India.

On the morning of April 16th, Mr. Le Trung Chinh, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee led the delegation of People's Committee of Da Nang City to visit and work at Tan Cang - Cai Mep ports (including TCIT, TCTT, TCCT) to learn about business operation models and exchange experiences in the process of deploying, managing and operating port projects of SNP.
