TCIT WELCOMED ONE FANTASTIC VESSEL: EMBRACING THE GREEN STANDARD FOR MEGA CONTAINER VESSELS

On the morning of July 10, 2025, Tan Cang – Cai Mep International Terminal (TCIT) successfully welcomed the ONE FANTASTIC vessel with a deadweight tonnage (DWT) of 171,899 – making it the second-largest container vessel ever to call at TCIT and across the Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP) system this year. This milestone marks TCIT’s continuous efforts to enhance its vessel handling capacity, adapt to the growing trend of green and large-size vessels, and meet the increasingly stringent demands of the global shipping industry.
The ONE FANTASTIC, with a DWT of 171,899, is a hybrid technology container vessel calling at TCIT.Built in 2023, the ONE FANTASTIC is owned by Ocean Network Express (ONE) and is a next-generation, large container vessel that applies hybrid green technology in line with international maritime environmental standards. With a length of 366 meters and a carrying capacity of 15,516 TEUs, the vessel discharged 8,838 TEUs at TCIT. It operates on the MS2 service operated by the Premier Alliance, connecting Vietnam and the United States through the following port rotation:
Singapore – Laem Chabang – Cai Mep – Shanghai – Los Angeles/Long Beach – Oakland – Pusan – Shanghai – Ningbo – Kaohsiung – Shekou – Singapore.
The vessel was efficiently handled by TCIT’s modern equipment and facilities.In the context of the global maritime industry accelerating the transition towards greening and digitalization, shipping lines are increasingly deploying new-generation vessels to comply with strict emission standards set by environmentally sensitive markets such as the United States and Europe. Successfully receiving the ONE FANTASTIC not only affirms TCIT’s ability to handle ultra-large container vessels but also highlights its adaptability in meeting technical, environmental, and maritime safety standards.
