Ba Ria - Vung Tau, February 17, 2025 – Tan Cang – Cai Mep International Terminal (TCIT) successfully hosted a ceremony to welcome the inaugural vessel named ONE EAGLE, with a capacity of 14,000 TEUs, operating on the EC3 service route—one of the four main service routes of the Premier Alliance, alongside PS3, FP2, and MS2, connecting Vietnam with North American and European markets. The Premier Alliance’s continued choice of TCIT as its home port and trusted destination at Cai Mep following its restructuring represents a strategic decision enabling TCIT to contribute to realizing the alliance’s goals and vision in this new phase.

The Premier Alliance, formed through the strategic restructuring of the former THE Alliance, consists of three major shipping lines: ONE (Ocean Network Express), HMM, and Yang Ming. Officially commencing operations in February 2025, the alliance marks a significant milestone in the global container shipping industry. It was established to achieve core strategic objectives to maintain competitive advantages, including optimizing capacity, improving cost efficiency, expanding coverage of key markets, and enhancing service reliability. Currently, TCIT handles 10 weekly scheduled international service routes connecting Vietnam directly with key markets including North America, Europe, and intra-Asia. Moving forward, besides serving as a deep-water container terminal operator and international transshipment hub, TCIT plans to invest in and expand logistics-related businesses such as depots and ICDs in the Cai Mep area, aiming to provide comprehensive logistics solutions and value-added services that optimally meet the needs of shipping lines and import-export enterprises.
