On May 11, 2024, Tan Cang - Cai Mep International Terminal (TCIT) successfully received the Seaspan Beyond vessel - the maiden call of the AP1 service connecting Vietnam to the U.S. West Coast. This service is jointly operated by Wan Hai Lines (Taiwan) and Ocean Network Express (Japan) to upgrade and strengthen the cargo network connections of shipping lines along the U.S. West Coast.

On the afternoon of February 13 (the 4th day of the Lunar New Year), in Phu My Town, Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province, Comrade Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo Member and Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, together with the Government delegation, attended the ceremony to welcome the first international vessel of the year and issued the command to commence the first cargo handling of the year at TCIT, under Saigon Newport Corporation, Navy Command.
