Wednesday, 18/06/2025
On the occasion of the 135th birthday anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh – the great leader of the Vietnamese nation, on the morning of May 19, 2025, Tan Cang – Cai Mep International Terminal (TCIT) successfully welcomed the ONE FUTURE vessel – the largest container vessel ever to call at the terminal, with a deadweight tonnage (DWT) of up to 171,947. This milestone marks a breakthrough achievement, reflecting TCIT's strong transformation and continuous efforts to enhance its vessel-handling capacity, keep up with the trend of larger vessels, adopt green technology, and meet the increasing demands of the global logistics industry.

ONE FUTURE – A next-generation hybrid container vessel calling at TCIT.
ONE FUTURE is one of the latest large container vessels owned by Ocean Network Express (ONE), built in 2024. It is a hybrid vessel that combines two or more energy sources for operation, contributing to enhanced sustainability and environmental responsibility in maritime transportation.
The vessel measures 366 meters in length, has a capacity of 15,516 TEUs, and a DWT of 171,947. It is deployed on the MS2 service operated by the Premier Alliance starting from March 2025. The MS2 service connects Vietnamese cargo to the U.S. market, with the rotation:
Singapore – Laem Chabang – Cai Mep – Shanghai – Los Angeles/Long Beach – Oakland – Pusan – Shanghai – Ningbo – Kaohsiung – Shekou – Singapore.

In the context of a rapidly transforming global maritime industry, driven by the dual trends of green transition and digitalization, shipping lines are increasingly prioritizing investment in next-generation fleets — vessels that not only optimize operational efficiency but also meet the increasingly stringent environmental standards of major ports in the U.S. and Europe.
The successful call of the ONE FUTURE at TCIT during this pivotal period is a testament to the terminal’s robust infrastructure and operational flexibility. It also demonstrates TCIT’s proactive approach in accompanying shipping lines on their journey to meet modern technical, emission, and maritime safety standards. This marks a significant step forward for TCIT in strengthening its position on key service routes connecting Vietnam with major global markets.

To become one of the leading deep-sea container terminals in Southeast Asia for its targeted vessel segment, TCIT remains committed to continuously enhancing service quality, adopting advanced technologies, accelerating digital transformation, and promoting sustainable development. The terminal will continue to work hand-in-hand with shipping lines in adapting to new operational standards, effectively meeting the growing demands of customers, and reinforcing its pivotal role in the global supply chain connecting Vietnam to the world.
