In 2015, the trading activities between Vietnam’s enterprises and oversea partners grew sustainably with the growth rate of 12% in comparison with that of 2014 and likely to keep a stable growth in the upcoming year.
As a result, the volume of inbound and outbound cargoes handled by Tan Cang- Cai Mep International Terminal (TCIT) grew with a considerable rate. In specific, TCIT handled 979,221 TEUs, achieved a growth of 6% equivalent to 56,336 TEUs in comparison with that of 2014. The total inbound and outbound were 440,494 TEUs (down 4% compared to that of 2014) and 538,727 TEUs (up 16% compared to that of 2014) respectively. TCIT served 383 vessels - 19 more vessels than last year.
Especially, TCIT continues to maintain the biggest market share at Cai Mep – Thi Vai. In 2015, it accounted for around 67% of the area total throughput volume. With a support of capacity expansion, the terminal is expected to grow more strongly and consecutively be the leading operator at the area in particular as well as in Vietnam in general.
