ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT INBOUND CONTAINERS TRANSPORTATION FROM TAN CANG – CAI MEP INTERNATIONAL TERMINAL (TCIT) TO HO CHI MINH AREA

Regarding to the inbound container transportation from TCIT to HCM area, we would like to keep you be updated as follows:

Due to the complicated situation of the Covid-19 pandemic, many measures to control people and vehicles have been applied by government authorities, partly affecting the transportation and receipt of imported containers from TCIT to associated Ports/ICDs, especially Cat Lai to where accept most of the inbound containers transferred from TCIT.

In order to enhance the service quality of TCIT as well as maintain the smooth production and business activities, TCIT would like to request Carriers to jointly implement the following measures:

1. Carriers to send (a) list of containers that need urgently transporting together with (b) Customer's commitment to receive cargo in Cat Lai stating "Customer commits to complete all Customs procedures related to the receipt of cargo within 48 hours from the time shipment is discharged to Cat Lai” and (c) Customer's plan to receive containers to their warehouses/factories. TCIT will facilitate and prioritize the transportation of shipments having commitments from customers.
2. TCIT recommends Carriers to adjust the final destination to other associated Ports/ICDs at the most convenient locations customers, such as Tan Cang - Hiep Phuoc, Tan Cang - Nhon Trach ICD, Tan Cang – Long Binh ICD and other Ports/ICDs in Dong Nai and Binh Duong areas to reduce pressure on Cat Lai.

Note: TCIT will apply different methods of receiving and transporting inbound cargos depending on the extent of impact on TCIT's production and business activities. Any adjustments will be notified to your shipping lines to proactively plan accordingly.
