On 27 August, Tan Cang – Cai Mep International Terminal (TCIT), a joint venture container terminal among Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP), Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Wan Hai Lines and Hanjin Transportation, reached 1,000,000 TEU throughput in 2018 during the cargo handling operation for M/V YM MODERATION operated by Yang Ming Maritime Transport and deployed to the EC5 service of THE ALLIANCE.

On 22/6/2018, Tan Cang – Cai Mep International Co., Ltd (TCIT), a joint venture of Saigon Newport Corporation, and three other big business partners, namely Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (Japan), Wan Hai Lines (Taiwan) and Hanjin Transportation (Korea), has held a solemn ceremony to welcome the maiden call of ONE STORK of Ocean Network Express (ONE) routing on EC4 service which connects TCIT to US East Coast.

In early May 2018, Tan Cang – Cai Mep International Terminal (TCIT) has solemnly welcomed 02 brand-new Intra – Asia services, which are JS2 – operated by Ocean Network Express (ONE), Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL), Yang Ming and NS1 – operated by Wan Hai Lines (WHL) and Interasia Lines (IAL). These services have been launched in order to replace HSX service previously accommodated at TCIT of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) and WHL.

At 13:30, 24/01/2018, Tan Cang - Cai Mep International Terminal Co., Ltd. (TCIT) has successfully welcomed the trial maiden call of Malik Al Ashtar - a mother vessel operated by Hapag – Lloyd which has capacity of 145.328 DWT of EC4 service, connecting directly between TCIT and US East Coast.
