TCIT news in April 2011

On 19 April 2011, Tan Cang – Cai Mep International Terminal Co. Ltd (TCIT) successfully held a ceremony of welcoming the COSCO TIAN SHENG HE - the first Cosco vessel at TCIT.

This is the vessel of the SJX (Singapore & Japan Express) service. Her rotation is passing through 11 ports including: Port Kelang (Sat/Sun) – Singapore (Sun/Sun) – Cai Mep (Tue/Wed) – Yantian (Fri/Fri) – Osaka (Mon/Mon) – Tokyo (Tue/Wed) – Long Beach (Fri/Sun) – Oakland (Mon/Mon) – Tokyo (Fri/Fri) – Osaka(Sat/Sat) – Hong Kong(Tue/Wed) – Port Kelang (Sat/Sun). Weekly arrival will be on Tuesday at 12:00 PM and departure will be at 5:00 PM on the same day. COSCO Shipping Lines is the biggest carrier in China and at the top ten of the world.

On 29 April 2011, TCIT hold the ceremony of welcoming the YM MARCH 069A/B of YangMing Shipping Lines. This is also the first vessel of AW5 (Asia – Us East Coast Service Loop – 5). Her route includes 11 ports: Kaohsiung – Hong Kong – Yantian – Cai Mep – Singapore – Suzez – New York – Norfolk – Boston – Suez – Singapore – Kaohsiung. She is expected to arrive at TCIT at 8:00 AM on 30 April 2011. YANG MING Lines is one of the world-class lines about transport service from Ho Chi Minh City to America and Canada.

Along with MOL, 3 shipping lines of CKYH Alliance, including: HANJIN, COSCO, YANGMING, have operated their own vessels at TCIT. Until now, TCIT has received 5 mother vessels per week. In April, the volume was over 16,300 Teus, Net productivity was 56 moves/hour and port stay Productivity was 41.23 moves/hour. These figure show that TCIT is improving and enhancing service quality to achieve handling productivity of  70 moves/hour in the near future.
