TCIT grows 11% in the first half of 2015

Tan Cang – Cai Mep International Terminal (TCIT) handled 488,133 Teus and set a growth rate at 11% in the first half of 2015.

Tan Cang – Cai Mep International Terminal (TCIT) handled 488,133 Teus and achieved a double – digit growth at 11% in the first half of 2015. Outbound containers strongly increased 23% equivalent to 49,884 Teus, accounting for 54% and discharged volume slightly decreased 1% equivalent to 2,645 Teus, accounting for 46% in total throughput volume.

Thanks to the upgraded capacity of some services like LOOP1 (Vietnam – Europe) and SE2 (Vietnam – US) and successfully attracting 02 new more Intra - Asia services including MSS (operated MOL) and CVT (operated China Shipping), performance of TCIT in the first half of 2015 surpassed the expected target. The estimated volume for full year 2015 will be more than 1.1 million Teus at increasing by 10% compared to 2014. Especially, TCIT has always kept the biggest market share of 77% at Cai Mep – Thi Vai in the first 06 months of 2015.

Despite of facing many difficulties of the world economy, these numbers show the development and dynamism of the terminal.  As the leading container operator in Vietnam, TCIT is confident of providing the best services to all valued customers with the average net productivity of approximately 30 boxes/hour/crane.
